The Harley of all Harley's

The Harley of all Harley's actually isn't a Harley at all. It's a 1980 Honda C70! It has a 70cc motor and a three gear auto clutch transmission. She is a beauty but there is many things wrong with it:

headlight broken

electric start not working

oil leak

long warm-up time

bulbs burnt out

and the list goes on. Me being the high roller that i am decided that i wasn't going to put any money into this little project, other than 5 dollars in gas every couple weeks!! Yes that's right couple weeks, the bike is really good on gas. The tank is 1 gallon and for every gallon the moped can drive over 100km. Top speed with me on it was 60 Km/h but if someone smaller went on it they could get it up to 70 or 80. She is a good machine and runs pretty well right now. I'm hoping to get it street legal one day and have it up and running to drive around town, who knows maybe you'll see my flying past you one day on my "Harley".

Dreams in a Small Town.

I used this in one of my assignments but I feel so strong about it that I wanted to put it on here.

As a member of a band I know just how tough it can be at times. Equipment can get very expensive and opportunities to make money don't come too often. Communities need to help out, they should come see local talent and purchase t-shirts or CDs to get them on their way. There is so much talent in small towns and all around the world that hasn't been discovered yet and may never be discovered because of financial issues with the artist or band. It takes money to make money, and if you can’t dish out the dough you might as well just give up.

It's a cruel world we live in, people are always worried about making money and can't be bothered to help someone who wants to believe in something they love to do. In school you’re taught to pick a career that is up and coming and one that will be the safest bet to start a family with. Not everyone wants that, there are dreamers in the world, there are people who believe that what they put their mind to they can do. Singers, actors, directors, and basically anyone involved with film or music had a dream they wanted to change the world with what they love to do but with people telling them that they couldn't do it or they wouldn’t make it big they get discouraged.

Sure it’s a risk but people need to realize that helping a band now means that you help someone with a dream. You can help someone achieve what they've always wanted even if it’s just to play music as a hobby or play music as a career you have helped them. When someone buys a shirt from a local band, they aren't just helping them get money, they are helping them buy new equipment and things to benefit their dreams.

A world without people who have a dream is a world that isn’t fun. Dreamers make our entertainment business and it’s the people that have dreams that shape our society as a whole. Help a musician, help a dancer, help an actor, help them to succeed, but mainly help keep the people who have dreams, dreaming. Keep the hope alive that someone in a small town can reach their goals and fulfill their dreams.

The Spot

The best place to go late at night to just sit and relax is Tim Hortons. Three of my friends and me go there frequently and we have named it "the spot" because its the spot we go to hang out. My favourite drink is a steeped tea with 2 milk 2 sweetener, it's magic.

A few times we tried out golden griddle, the food was good but it wasn't what we were looking for. We needed a place we could relax at and talk about the day we had, some times we would stay in there until 3 AM! It's always a good time hanging out with your friends at your local tim Hortons, just having a good time.

The First Performance

This is the first performance the pounds ever had. It was a the great 8 shadow day at Riverside. The grade 8's from the feeder schools came and had a blast. I think because we played a lot of the kids decided to come to riverside because its just such a great school. We have come a long way since this and we sound a lot better. The feeling we got from this show was like none other, the kids were going wild and everyone loved us. The feeling you get from playing in front of a crowed never gets old, its always a rush and I plan on doing it the rest of my life.

Tennessee Here We Come

August 9th is the big day, bags will be packed, birds will be chirpin' and Jordan (lead singer) and Eric(bass player) and I will make the journey to Nashville Tennessee. There we will be recording 2-3 songs for our debut EP not yet titled. It's about an 8-9 hour drive and should be a great time. In Nashville I will be buying a new guitar, I might be spending close to 1000$ for the right one.

I'm really excited for all the great food we are going to eat and how much fun we are going to have. Jordan's brother Josh lives in Tennessee and plays drums and produces for a living. It would be great to play music for the rest of my life! When we head home from Nashville we are going to make a stop in Ohio. Josh is playing a show there and were going to see him, and probably go backstage.

The trip is coming quick and each day closer i get more and more excited! It should be a great trip jam packed with fun!

The Pounds

Before you read this post please turn on your speakers and have a listen on my blog. I've added The Pounds Myspace song player to my blog for your listening pleasures.

The band has been around for less than a year and already we've had great success. We started off, just three guys having a good time, writing dumb songs, that made fun of people mostly. Now we've evolved into so much more. We added another guitar, a drummer, a singer, a bass played, and keyboards. I think we’ve finally found all the pieces to the puzzle that we need to be a successful band. We started practising at our singer’s church, and we started to improve quickly. We’d come a very long way and when the chance to play the Riverside high school talent show came along, we stole the show. The entire school piled up to the front of the gym right against the stage. Vice Principal Josh Canty even went as far as saying (and I quote) "For that short amount of time, I had no control over my school. The Pounds did". Along with the great pride of winning, we received 5 hours of free recording at one of the best studio’s in Windsor. It was there where everything fell together for us, and we recorded out first hit single ‘No Vacancy'. We've been playing shows and bringing in HUGE amounts of fans to shows. With the lineup we have, and our great stage presence you would not be disappointed when you come to shows.

The band is as follows:
Kyle Lundy (me): Lead guitar, age 17
Eric Bauer: Bass guitar, age 17
Jordan Crosby: lead vocals, age 19
Kevin Prieur: rhythm guitar, age 18
Jesse Crosby: Drums, age 16
Dawn Newman: Keys, age 29

Britt Nicole

This video is a live video of Britt Nicole playing her song 'Ready', she is a christian artist from Tennessee. My lead singer's brother is currently playing drums for her and loves every minute of it. In August my singer and bass player are going to visit them in Tennessee to record and write songs, it's going to be a great time. So check her out and tell me what you think.

ALL ABOUT ME!!!!!!

Before we get started I think I should introduce myself, my name is Kyle Lundy and I'm 17 years old. My birthday is Nov. 3rd which means I'm a Scorpio. I am not a shy person and rarely ever get embarrassed. My favorite things to do are play football, play guitar, drive my "Harley" moped and rock out with my band The Pounds.

I've been playing guitar for a while now and I'm pretty good. My favorite guitar player is Eddie Van Halen and his playing has influenced mine. Basically I spend all my money on guitar gear, and food. I work at Little Caesars, it's not the greatest job but money is money. I work with a bunch of my friends there so its alright. In September I'm going back to Riverside Secondary School to play football and relax. Should be a fun semester,

That's basically me in a nutshell, if you have any questions at all i will answer them with a blog response. Have great day!

Love,
Lundy
